Palm Sunday celebrations

Whilst in Grenada we stumbled across the city's Palm Sunday procession. This turned out to be quite entertaining. The centrepiece was a shrine to the Virgin Mary, which was being paraded through the streets, pursued by a rather good brass band.

The shrine was evidently supported from underneath, by a whole bunch of people of who you could only see the feet. This made it rather reminiscent of The Luggage from the Discworld novels. And just to set it off perfectly, the whole shrine was swaying quite quickly in time with the music. You couldn't have made it up. Brilliant.

We've now headed back to the Costa del Sol. Saw the 101 this morning and it was still minus gearbox, but the garage had done quite a bit with the parts which arrived this morning. They've replaced the inlet manifold gaskets, which needed doing at some point, and it made sense to sort them while everything else was being done. Once the gearbox is back on, that's pretty much it... fingers crossed, we might have it back tomorrow, but it could be Wednesday. It's so frustrating when Africa is so close! The lure of the Costa del Sol is rapidly paling.
