Still in Spain!
The metal thing on the floor in front of the 101 is the gearbox. This has to be removed to get to the errant oil seal. Whilst sorting the oil seal the mechanic recommended we replace the clutch plate and a couple of other seals as well, which actually makes a lot of sense whilst you're in there. The penalty for this is that the parts won't be in until Monday, and typical - it's holiday season here so they're only working half days! We could have had the oil seal sorted on its own and been in Africa by now, but again, it seemed worth sorting now to avoid any problems later.
The coastal area around Marbella wasn't really our cup of tea, so we've headed inland to Grenada, home to the Alhambra Palace. Tickets are very hard to come by at the moment so we were queueing at 7am to get ours. It's a pretty impressive place and was worth the visit. Grenada city is very nice, at least the bits around the palace are, although it does degenerate a bit further out.
Tomorrow we're going to head out to Sierra Nevada for a day in the mountains, before going back to Marbella on Monday morning. As the garage is only open half-day on Monday, it'll likely be Tuesday before we get the truck back, but you never know.

What a pain in the backside - still you are right it is worth doing. Make sure you road test it to ensure everything is working okay. I assume you can cross to Africa whenever you want to ?
Grenada is great, we have been to the palace as well - very impressive. You are at the better part of the Costa Del Sol where you are some bits are truly awful.
Still the weather in the UK has been good today - actually cut the lawn - I think Nicki was riding and then went up to London for the evening.
I look forward to hearing of your progress.
Take care.
Julian
