Visa update
I picked up the Guinea visas yesterday, and dropped the passports off at the Sierra Leone consulate in Holborn for their visa. This means we'll go to Africa with 5 visas - these two plus Mauritania, Burkina Faso and Benin.
We'll aim to get the Mali and Guinea Bissau visas in Dakar, where they have representation. Togo should be obtainable at the border, and Ghana in Togo. This leaves Niger, which I'm a bit stuck on; hopefully we can get them at the border!
Gambia, Morocco, Western Sahara and Senegal do not require visas for British citizens.
For the record, Burkina Faso and Benin were very easy to get; Guinea quite straightforward, once Abby had spoken to the French hotel staff and got them to fax a booking confirmation; Sierra Leone a bit more tricky (getting the letter of invitation was challenging, shall we say); and we cheated for Mauritania by getting an agency to do it.
