How did I lose 9 days?!
The last few days have been spent trying to stem the flow of essential fluids out of the truck. I've replaced 3 wheel hub oil seals, which seems to have had an effect, and Ian and I replaced the oil seal in front of the handbrake (which was pouring oil out by the pint), so hopefully the handbrake will work again properly now with its shiny new shoes.
On the inside, I have a new stereo, which actually works properly, and which I can plug the iPod into. I also have a nice RAM laptop mount, for navigation use. Just need to decide what navigation software to use now.
I've also stocked up on several hundred quid's worth of spare parts. Hopefully these will come back still in their original wrappers, but if anything starts to go wrong (heaven forbid), at least some eventualities should be covered.
Why is it that all these short jobs take days and days to complete? Still on the list is to replace the brake master cylinder oil seals, which is going to be a lousy job to do, but it seems to have stopped leaking in the meantime, so I'm not as bothered about it as I was...
Driving back from Devon last night in the pouring rain, I noticed I was getting quite wet, particularly around the left shin, so a few holes will need to be plugged.
